Thanks to:

Tiger (Joan actually) for the use of the garage - again

Apologies to anyone else I’ve missed

Fees

Same as last year, $150.00 payable by mid February. If not paid by then, membership rights are suspended until full payment. One exception, the Mouse will not be allowed on the first tee anywhere unless full payment is provided UPFRONT. Any monies left over after expenses to be used at the behest of the members.

Sponsors

Brookvale Plumbing to continue their support with one bottle of wine for the winner of each competition round. This is not to be confused with fun days such as the day before the weekend away, or combined round competitions such as the weekend away (Masters event) where the winner receives separate prizes.

Paul Johnston to support appropriately, possibly 100 premium golf balls – to be discussed

Mick Noon to see what Subaru can offer

Gerry Magee to approach Harbord Bowlo for support

Membership

It is estimated that we will have 21 regular members at the start of the 2010 season. Welcome on board to Phil the manc, Neil and Matt and also a welcome back to Sean Rafferty

General Business

Trip away.

As per fixture list, 30th April to the 2nd of May, Nelson Bay. It has been suggested that an Ambrose format be played on the non-competition day at Pacific Dunes on the Friday

Whilst acknowledging the fact that it is an excellent venue for a weekend away, many members feel it is either time for a change, or, add an extra weekend away a bit more should I say – exotic?  Ideas to be discussed sensibly at the earliest convenience of the membership with Jack and Tiger willing to run a savings book to ease the payment situation.

Shame File.

Dave Worley finally came to terms with the fact that he owed the club $50.00. He paid up  but with bottom lip noticeably trembling.

Green Fees.

$50.00 per round at all courses. This is not so Gerry can by new tyres for his 4wd with the surplus, but some courses do charge more,  and we do have to pay for shortfalls of player numbers particularly in the winter months. Any monies left over to be used at the behest of the members. It is to be noted that a few members were not in agreement with this decision, as is their right, but it was accepted by the majority. The decision is to be trialled this year and monitored for its efficiency.

Blackheath.

Most if not all members have taken to the idea of going up on Saturday morning, spending the day at leisure, getting on it and playing the competition game (the Stevie Morgan Slab) on the Sunday. Gerry Magee is to look into the cost of getting a bus there and back (Sat/Sun) so we can have the Stevie Morgan, slab as is custom, on the way home.

Dave Worley suggested we have a fancy dress situation on the Saturday night
                                               Accommodation to be discussed.

Competitions. It has been suggested that we restore the singles and doubles competitions. This will be looked into in the new year.

Meeting closed at 3.15pm

Regards,

Phil Edney
